This is a 1950's vintage alto saxophone
made by I.F.L. Linton of Elkhart, Indiana. Linton is of
course best know for their bassoons and oboes. This is a
very handsomely engraved instrument, serial number 16610
in the original lacquer finish. There are no dinks and
one shallow dent on the lower curve of the return bend
which I have shown in one of the photos. The instrument
comes with a Getzel luggage style case typical of the
period. Two of the screws that hold the clothing guards
in place are missing. One guard will need to be tweaked
a bit to get the holes to line up.
This instrument came from an estate sale in Bangor,
Maine. There is a decal on the case for the Caroline
Cardinals. I do not play the saxophone and so offer the
instrument as is but all of the keys appear to work
correctly and I see no signs of heavy use. I believe
that it has been sitting in a closet for many, many
years.
I am offering this instrument with NO RESERVE. Buyer
