Description

This here Paris_made SML (Strasser Marigaux Lemaire) is one serious power horn. I wasn't sure until one day during sound check at Stubbs (you know, the new location on Red River), when I blasted a few notes thru it off mic ... and ... you could see the plaster shaking loose from the ceiling ....

Keyed to low Bflat for better projection and voice
Lacquer near 100% (blemish on neck, and "crazed" spot under bell, shown in photos)
Professional overhaul has 4 years of very light use, still as good as fresh from the shop. This earns it the coveted Gone2dogz top rating for playing condition
Light and easy response thru entire range
Giant sound
"Ping" bright frequencies on top of sound add projection and make it audible thru an ensemble
RARE. SMLs are hard to find and the baris are mighty rare
Straight toneholes (this seems to be true of all SML bari saxes)
Sturdy case, lined in red plush, in good shape (one little rip in the vinyl cover)
Serial number 22xxx dates it to early 70s

Now I don't have any great bari solos on this horn, so I have brought you a couple ensemble recordings I made where you can hear it anchoring the band.
Here's that "Kleines Englechen" song for my daughter (450 k) , and

Here's a new song, with more prominently displayed bari. It's called "you've got a nose" but the vocals haven't been recorded yet, so all you get is the backup band. (150 k)

And some noodling (150 k) just because, well, um... if I was trying out a horn, I'd , well, noodle around on it....

Winning bidder pays shipping : $35 inside USA (well, it'll probably cost more, but I'll take care of the diff). Actual shipping cost outside USA (beware! this could get pretty high). Check or money order OK. Checks may delay shipment.
PayPal is ok if you pay with a "e_check" or a direct bank transfer, or by applying PayPal funds from all the people who have been sending PayPal money to you. But if you try to use your credit card to make the PayPal payment then not only do I get nailed with a whopping fee, but also they change how my account is registered and from that date forward every PayPal payment to me (even e_check) costs me money. So, please, no PayPal Visa or MC.
Bidders outside USA who pay via bank transfer will have to cover the $10 fee that my bank charges for receiving a bank transfer. BidPay seems to be a good international option.
