Conn
Gold plated tenor saxophone. Serial #87575. (1922) Excellent
condition. Repadded within the past few months with Selmer style
flat pads with vinyl resonators. Lightly sandblasted with a fully
restored beautiful gold color. First this is a very collectible and
perhaps rare sax because of the magnificence of the engraving and
the gold plate itself. The pictures should speak for themselves. The
gold plate is very complete. Initially I thought it looked too good
to be true. It was kind of a lighter gold and very clean. My
repairman said that it was lightly sandblasted, so that the gold is
in fact a lighter color. The engraving was probably done my one of
the master engravers from the Conn factory. It is a very and
interesting art deco engraving on bell area. Could perhaps be
considered a kind of a Conn “Portrait Model” with the detailed
engraving of a cherub with broom over right shoulder (pictured in
full) surrounded by floral engraving and C.G. Conn insigna (refer to
pictures). 95-98+% Gold plate. It has original ivory rollers. There
are no dents or dings. It features the rolled tone holes and
tuneable neck. The neck (Not the Conn Chu Berry “tunable” neck) is
in good shape with a good cork; no dents or bends on the neck. Comes
in the original Conn case in good condition. I will enclose tenor
sax mouthpiece (used), reed, strap, grease, and swab with this
