Buffet Crampon
"Dynaction"
Alto Saxophone
vintage mid-late 1940s, serial# 19xx
Outstanding player, atypical/typical tuning - outstanding middle through upper registers, a tad flat in the bell keys (about 10 cents -- can be addressed by adjustments to bell key guards, but would require mild bending, which I won't do on this horn because it is a consignment). Very free blowing horn, with pads in good condition.Original screw-in conical (and oversized!) resonators on all but 3 key cups.
Body finish is original gold lacquer ~90%; neck lacquer and neck brace removed by a previous owner (perhaps to free up sound).
Automatic G#.
100% ready to play; keyheights individually adjusted for best response, springs individually & attentively tensioned for light, lively action. Great playing pre-SDA alto at very nice price.
(Recording is of me, 2 yrs beginner, playing over Dexter's recording of "For Sentimental Reasons.")
