BUESCHER
GOLD PLATED TRUE-TONE LOW PITCH ALTO SAXOPHONE MODEL 126, Serial number
250097. Manufactured in 1929. SELMER USA bought BUSECHER in 1963
Records they have of the old BUSECHER plant and instruments are spotty
at best. Quoting from an old BUSECHER ad; “FINISH – L – De Luxe finish.
Beautifully engraved designs all over instrument from mouthpiece to
bell, quadruple Gold plate over Silver plate, entire instrument
burnished to a mirror finish, Ivory rollers for the little finger of
each hand. This is a beautiful finish, especially designed for those
who want something distinctive and elaborate. [ALTO; $350.00] “ $350.00
represents the cost circa 1929 in the market today the cost would be
approx.$3,500.00. [In a SOTW Forum post 11/24/2002, Paul Lindemeyer has
suggested that the fine engraving designs were actually handled by
CONN]. This Saxophone is the absolute top version of this model; it’s
also pretty rare. CONDITION: No soldered repairs or repairs of any
kind. No dents, dings, bends etc. This instrument was well cared for
and was put away dry and is odor free. It is missing the mouthpiece,
Lyre and Lyre screw. It will need a new neck cork (compressed). There
is duct tape over two left hand finger pearls (carefully replaced with
wood). Plays well and easy, except register key mechanism is sluggish
and the pivot rod that would fix the problem is frozen (might just need
lube) as a result lower register is playing nicely and the upper is not
(must be assisted manually). Comes in it’s original case (Faux
Alligator in VG condition). I have had this instrument evaluated by two
sources, one Internet and one at a local, reputable music store. www.lanningmusic.com
please feel free to email or call them (570-748-3313) for questions.
The winner will have 48 hrs. upon receipt of the instrument to ANNOUNCE
INTENTION TO RETURN for a complete refund. All shipping and insurance
costs are included in the final bid price. NO hidden costs. SORRY, NO
INTERNATIONAL SALES WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS MUST
PAY WITH PAYPAL AND DO NOT QUALIFY FOR SHIPPING AND INSURANCE IN FINAL
BID AND MUST ASSUME THE COMPLETE COST OF SAME. A rare opportunity to
own one of the finest Saxophones ever produced. Please refer to my FB
rating to be assured that I am an honest and reliable seller. Thank you
for looking. JFM.

to description; There are scattered tarnished areas on the
instrument, observable on close up photos. A careful professional
cleaning will be necessary. IMPORTANT ! I described the instrument as
ODOR FREE I've been informed by the music store owner who helped
evaluate the saxophone, I quote "It smells exactly like every
other old Saxophone " meaning it has an odor. What I meant in my
description is that it does not smell "worse" than every other old
Saxophone. Some of the pics look funny , it's my fault, I did not alter
them, just bad composition. This is a very nice instrument. Please
email Lanning Music or call the number provided for a more professional
opinion.

the text of the description I call attention to the "Duct" tape on two
missing finger pearls. In the photo I've identified this tape as
"masking" tape. It's "Duct" tape.
