Cool horn! Gotta love that shiny silver
Before I scrolled down enough to see the bell, I thought the horn was one of those metal fence posts. Then I realized the keys were just missing!

Yikes
what a beautiful sight!!!!!!! A silver Buffet Dynaction. I have a
lacquer tenor with the original flat metal resonators and it just
smokes!!!!!!!! I believe that these are the most undervalued horns
alive. What an incrediable horn these are!!!!!! Super rare in silver.
Congrats on your new sax!!!!!!! One of only about 2500 Dynaction tenors
made. SWEET!!!!!!!

Is
the neck solid silver or plated? This horn is gorgeous. And think only
2500 people max at any one time in the universe can know what I am
talking about!!!!

Lovely
job restoring this beauty. I'm a real sucker for silver plate finishes,
and these models play and sound as good as yours looks, so hang on to
it!

I
have to double check but I think the neck is plated. I will be
messuring the pad cups and tone holes this week. I got caught up with
last weeks vacation and could not work on the horn. Hope to have it
fully playable in 1 month..

just
wondering; Saxland are you sure about the 2500 figure? it actually
seems a bit high to me, considering that, according to saxpics, around
4700 alto, tenor, and bari dynactions were made and it doesn't seem
logical to me that the tenors would outnumber the altos. also, would
you have any idea how many baris were made? I've been trying to find
out for a while now, since i bought mine (i should be picking it up
from the shop tomorrow, hooray!) the only other one i've seen ws the
one on saxpics.com.

Dynaction
Nelkin,
thanks for pointing out what I should have seen. I guessed about 5000
saxes were produced, (a rounded up figure) then split the figure in
two, (alto and tenor). When I bought my Dynaction I had no idea they
made baris until I saw one on ebay. So I have no idea, but glad to know
that there are fewer dynaction tenors ('cause I LOVE mine) than I
thought.
What is the Dynaction Bari like? Last edited by Saxland : 08-31-2005 at 07:26 PM. |
